Service Description
A flexible, alternative development programme for artists. We are incredibly proud to offer this amazing course, which is for adult artists at any stage of their practice. We wanted this programme to be available at the lowest possible price to attract artists of all backgrounds. If you are recently out of education or work, if you are unable to attend a more expensive or full-time programme, or if you want a taste of a slightly radical model, this programme is perfect for you. Term 1 is designed to deepen and explore your art practice. You don’t need any formal qualifications, and we welcome untrained artists, degree-level, post-grad, professional, emerging, and anyone committed to a creative practice in any medium. This cohort starts 24th September, is delivered in person, on Tuesday afternoons from 12-2, at our studio/gallery HAS x Hypha Studios, Priory Meadow, Hastings. Your tutor will be Oliver Salmon. Each week we have a 1 hour seminar around a theme or topic, details of which will be sent out in the week beforehand. These have practical exercises for you to work on during the week, with resources and questions aimed at reflecting on your practice. We discuss our responses to the theme at the seminar. After the seminar, we have a group critique. In these sessions, we look at two artists' work for about 30 mins in-depth. Everyone submits work (either installed in the space or digitally in advance) twice per term. These crits are excellent at getting an outside perspective on your practice from your fellow artists. Alongside these weekly sessions, there is also a half-hour long 1-1 tutorial with the cohort leader available to each artist per term. At the end of each term, we will have a public exhibition where you have the opportunity to show or sell your work.
Cancellation Policy
Booking Policy 1. Course Duration: The artist development programme course spans over 10 weeks per term, the short courses span over 8 weeks. 2. Booking Confirmation: Booking for the course is considered confirmed upon receipt of full payment or agreed-upon deposit. 3. Cancellation Policy: a. Cancellation Period: Artists may cancel their booking up to one week (7 days) into the course. b. Refund Policy: - If cancellation occurs within the first week (7 days) of the course, a full refund of the course fee will be provided. - No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the first week of the course. 4. Rescheduling Policy: a. Requests for Rescheduling: Artists may request to reschedule their participation in the course up to one week (7 days) before the course commencement date, subject to availability. b. Rescheduling Fee: A rescheduling fee may be applicable based on administrative costs and course availability. The amount will be communicated upon request for rescheduling. 5. Transfer of Booking: a. Transferability: Bookings are transferable to another individual or artist, provided that the organizer is notified at least one week (7 days) before the course start date. b. Transfer Process: The individual or artist receiving the transferred booking must comply with all course requirements and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this policy. 6. Course Changes and Cancellations: In the unlikely event that the course is canceled or rescheduled by the organizer, participants will be notified promptly, and alternative arrangements or a full refund will be offered. 7. Participant Responsibility: Participants are responsible for attending all scheduled sessions and completing required coursework. Failure to attend sessions or complete coursework will not result in a refund. 8.
